1. What documents are required to rent a car in Dubai?

For visitors with a GCC passport, a valid GCC Country License is required.

2. What is the minimum age for renting a car?

The minimum age to rent a car in Dubai is 21 years old. If you have already reached this age, everything is in order, contact Flagship Rentals to rent a car.

 

3. Which countries driving licence are valid in Dubai?

If you are a holder of a driving licence from any of the following countries bellow, you do not need to hold a international driving licence permit. For all other counties not listed bellow, you need to hold the international driving licence permit. Australia, Bahrain, Belgium, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Kuwait, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Oman, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia*, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom(UK), United States of America(USA)

4. The trip to Dubai failed and the car was booked. Will I get my money back?

We do not take prepayment for car rental. You pay for our services on the spot after arriving in Dubai or collecting the car from the agreed location. Therefore, if your trip is interrupted, please let us know and we will cancel your booking. Since the advance payment for car rental is not taken, there is no problem with the return of money.

 

5. Do I have to pay a deposit when renting a car?

Yes, a refundable deposit is required to pay when renting a vehicle. The amount of the deposit depends on the type of rented vehicle and the duration of the rental.

 

6. Can another driver also drive the vehicle?

Another driver can also drive the rented vehicle, but he must present all the necessary documents. The rental company may charge an extra fee for adding a second driver.

 

7. Are the vehicles insured during the rental period?

With Flagship Rentals you are getting a fully insured car. If you will find yourself in accident call us and depends on how big is crash also call police and emergency services. All cars are fully insured all you need to pay is insurance cooperation. For small scratches and things that are less than the smallest value for insurance policy we will charge you from your deposit. Before every delivery we will do full check and video of car that proves you that everything is in perfect condition.

 

8. What does car insurance cover?

9. What is the Speed limit in Dubai and what are the fines?

10. What can the police fine me for?

The Dubai Traffic Police can fine the driver, for example, for:

• over speed;
• driving at a speed below the minimum permissible on this section of the road;
• driving without a license;
• driving a car that does not have license plates;
• driving through a red light;
• driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs;
• violation of the safe distance between your car and other vehicles.

According to statistics, up to 90% of fines are imposed due to speeding.

11. What if I return the vehicle later than the agreed time?

If the vehicle is not returned at the agreed time, the rental company may claim a fee. The fee may represent the amount of the next started day.

 

12. Who pays for parking during the rental period?

The customer fully pays all fees associated with parking during the rental period of the vehicle. The rental company is not responsible for fees incurred with parking during the rental period.

 

13. How to pay for parking in Dubai?

If you use paid parking, you can pay for the service in two ways:

• in the vending machine - insert the required number of coins, press OK and wait until the device issues a receipt, which must be placed under the glass of the car so that it can be seen;
• by SMS - from a mobile phone with a UAE number, send an SMS to 7275 with the text "Car plate number + zone number + number of hours".

For example, O44970 363K 4. This means: car number O 44970, zone 363K, parking for 4 hours.

 

14. Can I travel outside the UAE with the rented vehicle?

No you can't not travel outside the UAE. It is possible to travel with a rented vehicle only within the UAE. Please comply with this regulation.

 

15. Is smoking allowed in the car?

Absolutely not. Smoking inside the vehicles is punishable by a fine.
